        least 48 hours in advance.

  • Note that any inclement weather cancellations will be posted on the web.

Membership

  • Membership year runs from January thru December

  • The membership fee for 2012 is $ 75

  • Ten months of CE hours are provided per calendar year. We expect the 2012 program year to provide
    20 hours of ACPE credit.

Objectives

Upon completion of the New Antimicrobial Agents 2011 knowledge-based activity, participants should be able to:

1.Dabigatran
o Review the current use of Dabigatran in clinical practice
o Summarize the available literature regarding the safety of dabigatran.
o Evaluate the role of dabigatran in practice, including the current limitations of its use
2.Legal Highs of New Drugs
o Recognize the various terminology associated with newer designer drugs.
o Explain the pharmacology behind the "legal highs" and the impact on toxicology.
o Compare the differential symptomatic presentation of selected agents in wide use.
3.Clostridium Difficile
o Explain the impact of hypervirulent Clostridium difficile strains on the recurrence of infection.
o Apply the recommendations from the 2010 IDSA/SHEA Clostridium difficile Infection guidelines to clinical practice.
o Summarize the available literature for emerging treatment options
